Macro Shots

I just went around my house taking pictures inside and outside, I have a telephoto lens so it was easier for me to get real close without actually being close. I tried to shoot things people wouldn't normally see up close.

Portraits

Portraits are my favorite form of photography, maybe because I have a very experienced teacher, my mother. I had my best friend come over one afternoon and did a photo shoot of her. This past weekend my mom had arranged my cousin to come over with her family and new baby for a photo shoot, she let me photograph it instead of her after I told her my assignment. I used sunlight, a sidelight and the actual room light as my sources. My mom helped set up the lighting and keep the kids attentive. I spent some time in digital darkroom editing the batch of photos. I really enjoyed this assignment.

Architectural Assignment

I went out of the box ( a little off subject) for this assignment. I was so excited to find out I was allowed to take photos in this car junkyard. I took close ups and far away shots along with outside and inside the car and birds eye to bug eye views. This subject matter was extremely interesting to me and I plan on going back.

Photo Journalism

I chose a simple idea for this assignment, my mom and I going to our work out class called Zumba at the Arnold Rec Center. I was disappointed to find out they didn't want pictures taken of the actual class taking place, but I did get pictures up until it started and right after. I wish I could have caught more, but it was difficult because I was partaking in the class, so maybe doing an event that I am not participating in would be a better option for next time!

White Balancing Assignment

Taking one subject and shooting it from all different white balances has helped me better understand the importance of lighting, and how much it can effect your photo. The lighting settings change your picture from all different shades of color, for example fluorescent being an overall shade of blue. I have never went to my white balance before on my digital point and shoot, so after knowing I even had a white balance will allow me to take better pictures, even for my personal use.
